Berkel Slicer – Model 7
DESCRIZIONE
Built between 1925 and 1928, this model is a slightly modified version of the model 5, which was also assembled in Italy first in the BREVETTI VAN BERKEL ITALIA factory in Chiavenna, then in Via Filippino Lippi in Milan.
The machine, with the carriage sliding on the pin, has a closed flywheel-driven movement and the upper carriage carries the worm screw with the ratchet system, to drive it to the thickness adjustment “clock”.
The important change is the top bogie plane, raising above the flywheel. In previous models it was lower and with a protruding product it disturbed the operation.
The clamp to attach the product to two columns (front and rear) is quick-sliding.
It is in this model that Berkel presents the “open” arm, fixed at the back with two studs, open at the front and with free access for large products.
The sharpener is the classic one, covered with a “cap” on top and a front mask.
The blade, 370 mm in diameter, is mounted on the arch-shaped shoulder with a thick white opaline glass top.
