The fame and prestige of the Berkel slicer and its inventor soon spread to North America as well.
The first country to embrace the production of the Dutch machines was the United States. Here, the brand first established itself in the Chicago factories and later in those of La Porte and Indiana.
In the USA, Van Berkel’s invention immediately achieved enormous success.
Later, the slicer also reached distant and cold Canada, where the Berkel factories were established in the city of Toronto.
