Berkel slicing machine – Model 20
DESCRIZIONE
Built in the period between 1928 and 1936, the Berkel 20 model is an innovative machine in terms of carriage feed system, with exceptional mechanics.
The carriage slides on rollers guided on one side by a rail, but the real gem is the feed mechanism: there is a worm screw placed underneath the carriage, regulated by an arc-shaped slice adjuster, with a cam inside that operates a small lever and goes to work into a complicated mechanism with the carriage movement rods.
All this is moved by the classic full and closed flywheel. The decal on it is different according to the country of origine, Holland or Italy.
The blade is 370 mm in diameter, mounted on the arch-shaped shoulder with a white opaline glass top.
The sharpener of the Berkel 20 slicer is the well known Berkel classic with a painted cap and front grille.
The smooth flywheel, the precise cut blade together with all the other characteristics of the Berkel model are faithfully reproduced respecting the original of the 30’s; in fact, every slicer recovered through our interventions, reproduces in an authentic and certified way the splendour it had in the past.
